Pygmys getting busy! pic

budman 1st Apr 10, 2004 06:57 AM

I know pigs are not a big dollar snake but I still like the fact that they reach adult size faster than most.
Here is a pic of a couple of lovers.

The big darker one is the female
The light phase is the male.
all are local and quite variable in coloring.
next season I hope to have lavender carolina crosses.

I've always appreciated those snakes, Bud. Nice pic. It's been my experience that the females get bigger than the males. I had one that fed on pink rabbits, fer cryin' out loud. Is that your experience also...females being the larger of the sexes? Reason I ask is that I saw a scientific paper once that stated that the males were always the larger.

Most of the time they are as in this pic.
males grow up faster to find a female ASAP.
One big female had a head as big as a match book
I might still have a pic I will check.
