Help about box turtle egg

Jenn429 Apr 10, 2004 10:57 AM

It has been 3 months today and I noticed that the egg shell has a couple small cracks on the outer layer of the shell, not completely through. Is this normal? Does anyone know any good sites that have pictures of eggs and what to look for right before it hatches? Thanks in advance

Sounds pretty normal. It can take a few days for the process to be completed.

Usually right before they hatch, you can see a bubble of thick fluid seeping out of a teeny tiny hole. Then SLOWLY a little turtle will emerge. It will take a good few days for the baby to completely come out. Be patient.
