hyper ornate

newherpaddict Apr 10, 2004 02:42 PM

I have a pretty young ornate uro and he runs around his cage frantically and when i first take him out he squirms, then after being restrained he relaxes and i can loosen my grip but if i move or the situation changes he get hyper again. At reptile shows I see most uros are lazy. Will he calm down or do i have to handle him more?(he gets handeled at the very least every other day)

Sounds like a typical import. Most uro's appear lazy at swaps/shows because they are not up to temp and just stressed. Let the little guy get used to his home and handle him gradually. There are several posts on here about that.
