Anyone have a leo that prefers mealies over crix? Another question...

nimmerfroh Apr 10, 2004 11:27 PM

I only ask because my adult leo I've had for about a month eats mealworms right away when I put them in her tank but after deciding to try some crickets for a little variety, she didn't go after them right away, then just to make sure she was actually hungry I tried some mealworms and bingo. My question is do leos usually go after crix right away or do they prefer to hunt them at night instead? I just don't have any experience in feeding crickets yet so I'd like some input from others who feed their leos crix - thanks.

i have some leopard geckos that only eat mealworms/superworms also----if you leave crickets in overnite be sure to put a couple of pieces of dry dog food in corner of enclosure-brian

My leo go mad when he see crix running around in his enclosure, he hunt them to the last, stuffing himself in the process , lol. He goes at them right away...sometimes he ambush the crix by hiding behing the plant and jump on them when they come near...What a surprise they must have....
