catching snappers

ok, i was wondering if i felt around in the mud near the edge of a lake/pond for baby snappers would any kind of aquatic turtle bite underwater?

im sure if u made any turtle real mad in their own area they could bite if they wanted to.

yeah they are cheap but after S h they can cost alot when i can jsut wait till when the eggs hatch and catch them cause there common up here when people charge like 20 bucks sh i can get for free and save money that i need to set up tank with

actually, just ask them if they'll ship priority mail, it costs $5, they don't guarantee it'll make it alive, but it will.

Edges of ponds and lakes where leaves sit and decompose are perfect nursery's for hatchling turtles. I've found many small snapping, and other turtles, just by sifting my hands through the muck.

It seems some turtles use this type of habitat to mate. One time I disturbed a mating pair of Eastern painted turtles, and yes...the male bit me. Painted, snapping, and musk turtles will bite if you blindly put your hand in their face.
