female veiled 6 months old. showing signs of readiness to breed?

tvrsir Apr 11, 2004 10:38 AM

my female veiled have been acting strange. she is really a big girl. shhe's pretty fat. well she have been roaming the cage up and down and around. she is also displaying brown to black dots on herself often. her eating habt have slowed down . she usually would eat 10-15 crickets a day. now it like 6 or 5. my question is is she wanting to mate is she ready a 6 months or is she too young. i have heard that 9 months is good to breed her. should i setup a 5 gallon bucket with playsand or what material should i use. is she developing eggs and ready to lay infertile eggs? what should i do is puzzling me. also when i went to pick her up today shhe bit me. took a piece of my skin kinda hurt a lil. it's bleeding damn. but i ain't mad at her. so to anyone who say it doesn't hurt it does. she caught me right on thhe index fingertop soft skin there. please help me i don't want to have an upset female. what should i do.

I would put a laying box in her cage. I would guess she is full of infertal eggs from eating so much.
