albino ring neck snakes

SeanOD Apr 11, 2004 11:08 AM

Hello all,
Albino ring necks are very cool looking snakes indeed. But as far as I know only will still and michael fedzen have had them in captivity, is that true? I've seen a few pics of theirs and they are very beautiful. Their pastel color is very unique. Are there any other albino ring necks out there in captivity?

There could be. It isn't like they are popping up everywhere though or anyone is breeding them as of yet. I expect not many people will. Supply and demand. Not a very high demand for ringnecks. Same with albino water snakes.

I still can't get over how beautiful they are. How can people not want them? They have a bad reputation of doing poorly in captivity while I can name like 100 people that disagree with that and I know about 50 other people that still keep them to this day. But, michael and will you two are very lucky to have those, I am now jealous.

lol, no need to be jealous. And I can also name many people that like ringneck snakes and like to keep them in captivity. I find them to do really well when they settle down and accept food for the first time. I'm working out a deal with the albino ringneck with a breeder, this year the breeder is going to attempt to breed it, but he thinks it won't work do to the fact that the snake hasn't hibernated in captivity. So it will be bred in 2005 and if there are babies they will go up for sale.

I explained that in a post below, I lost the pic so I just said it died. I think the thread is "Finally without further disruption, my albino ringneck"

Those are the only two pictures that keep popping up. I would like to see more pictures in a new setting, say, on tinfoil. That way everyone can see that it is still alive and doing well. It is just way too fishy. Why would you act like your snake had died? To impress people? I just don't buy that. If you lied once, then why wouldn't you do it again?

Hey andy,
Wasn't that the same pic posted by willstill a while back? I agree with you. Sounds fishy!

I'll try and get another pic but I am not too good with my camera. I have a 35mm camera, it sucks.
