Turtle will eat anything I swear.......

HerpHelmz Apr 11, 2004 12:07 PM

lol, my Painted Turtle, which is somewhere around 10 years old, an adult male will eat anything I feed it. Well yesterday, after my ringneck snake didn't want it's usual pinkie mouse, i fed it to the Painted Turtle. I'll post a pic of it in like a week if it turns out right.

Yea...aquatics are usually opportunistic feeders. A pinky is just like another piece of meat. It's a testament to why painteds are found almost throughout the entire nation....good adapters.

I fed mine bits of my cheek flesh once, if that grosses you out even more...

I feed my painted turtle any pinkie mice that my yearling yellow rat snake does not eat. In the winter time, even though I kept my snake cage at the same temp.,the snake didn't eat much. He ate maybe one pinkie every three weeks even if I offered it to him. Anyway needless to say my painted turtle was very happy during the winter..lol.. Now that spring is here my snake has eatten 2-4 fuzzies/pinkies a week so no left overs for the turtle. I did however feed her a tadpole this past week.
