i really don't type for my enjoyment. i only typed because i have some conscious left and that drives me to attempt to save your sav for you.
so, did you do anything i said?
if you did, good, wait til tomorrow and then feed it again.
i hope to god you aren't pestering it all day long by trying to handle it.
also, you didn't do something, you never explained every detail about your cage, that is necessary for us to diagnose something or tell you we don't know.
here is what we need to know: substrate, temps, when he has ate, if you are screwing around with him, etc
andrew
Now andrew i'm asking the question but i've waited a monitor for a year and i just don't want anything to happen t him. i have read a few books on them. I'm not just asking for the hell of it i need to know this stuff and i have tried a lot of what you said i put the plexi glass on the top of the cage and have all of the temps wright. so please dont think im asking just to see what you say
THanks for the help
Brandon
okay, i am glad you did some of that.
brandon, you need to tell us what the temps are. what is perfect?
i will give you some of the temps in my cages from what i wrote down on my sheets this morning.
my kimberly cage: cool end surface temp was 84, hot end surface was 95, hottest spot i could find in the entire cage was 158 below a 60 watt halogen spot, the next level in the stack was 105.
these are the kind of numbers we need. you can buy a temp gun at an auto parts store, it might come in handy, it will actually.
also, if it is just beginning to be setup correctly, give it a couple days.
has it eaten? or just tried?
do you have access to a digi cam or a scanner?
andrew
What are your temps? I know they're perfect, but what are they?
Has this monitor ever been tested or treated for parasites?
If he's eaten a few crickets, how does his poop look?
Does he try and defend himself when you touch him, or is he actually lethargic?

Eryx - All the fun of a boa in a convenient pocket size!
The temps on the cool side is 85.7 and the hot is 100.3
Yes has eaten a few cricket and his poop looks fine
He gose to the vet tomorrow
yes he defends hiself when i pick him up
okay, the temps i just listed for my kimberly rock monitors are somewhat closer to what you want. you need to create a basking place where it can heat up its whole body and places where it can get cooler, like the lower end of the 80s. remember also in my cages they have access to even lower temps below the substrate, even the ones that don't like to dig as much.
poop is fine? poop should not be runny at all and it should be evident what it ate. my mouse eaters have solid poop and leave hair behind. my ackies for instance have poop that is sometimes solid with hair and sometimes it is evident that they ate a lot of crickets.
