Breeding Applegate Phase Pyro

woody4238 Apr 11, 2004 03:45 PM

Here is a pic of my Applegate phase male pyro breeding to one of my normal females. The Male was purchased directly from Bob and is at 95 grams. The female is one of two proven girls I purchased from Jason at NV reptiles this year so I am hoping for some nice hets. I am also breeding this male to a het female and already have a het female that has bred to my het male. Thanks for looking!!

Nice pic, really shows how distinctive the specials are. just out of curiosity, why'd you breed het x het when you had a homozygous male you could have used?

Well Terry I am one of those guys who likes genetic diversity. I am hoping for one special out of the het to het and then three clutches sired by the special male. This will give me more options for future breedings. Even if I only get 66% hets I can hold the girls and again have some diversity in my colony. It also will hopfully prove the male. Thanks for the inquiry and I have been enjoying the thread on Hypo vs. Albino woulld love to talk to you more about it some day when we have more time. Take Care
