first bulls of the year!!

max Apr 11, 2004 06:43 PM

i finally found some bull this spring. even though it has not been as warm as i'd like. i was down by the creek that runs behind my house here in parker colorado looking for good spots and what do ya know i came upon a male about 3' under a rock. a real dark one at that. he had a nice mask like a raccoon! the other was out sunning and had just eaten. it was fairly fat and had a few bits of hair portruding from its ever hissing mouth. both bulls were very aggressive. any way i will be shipping out to san diego for the marines so if anyone knows any hot spots in that are please let me know! thanks

I just moved away from Arvada a month ago to Iowa and it's 45 degrees here today so not much herpin weather here yet. Last spring about this time I did some snooping under rocks at the mouth of Coalcreek canyon by highways 72/93. Didn't find much but had fun. I came across a rattler in some Jeffco Open Space by Rock Creek and boy was he ever pi$$ed. Glad to hear of your adventures and good luck in Ca.
