Month worth of eggs.

Was talking to the wife about my incubator situation. Need to upgrade for sure. Thats conservatively $1200 dollars worth of leopard geckos in a 39 dollar incubator with a wafer thermostat!

Wow! That is a lot of eggs! Can't wait to see what hatches out.

You've got plenty more room in that incubator. I wouldn't worry about the $39 Hovabator for your 50 eggs. I've got over 100 eggs incubating in a $5 homemade incubator that I've been using for years with no problems. The only thing I'd worry about in a set-up like yours, is a hatchling uprooting all the incubating eggs AND/OR trying to figure out who's who when 2 different geckos from different parents hatch at the same time.

Absolutely. Then you have to wait till they change to try and figure who's who , unless they're vastly different morphs.

Don't be too down on that Hovabator. I had a few good breeding seasons about 7 years ago so said what the heck and bought two fancy Lyons clear incubators for 300 each. They constantly varied about 21/2 deg. My hovabators next to them held at less than a deg. variation. Also, some of the best incubators I've seen were made from various sizes of converted refrigerators. Good luck!

what substrate is that?

Hi

He is using perlite, people use that or vermiculite to incubate eggs in. You can find that stuff at your local garden store etc..
