i am 10 and caught a western fence lizard down in Ellensberg yesterday. how do i tell there sexes and can i get a short care sheet on them? also, how often can i hold it?

determining the sexes of western fence lizards is pretty easy. if it has a blue throat and blue on the sides of its belly its a male otherwise it is a female. A care sheet you can get either on this website or by searching on yahoo. As for how often can you hold it. Dont hold it for a couple of days so that it can get used to its new home. after that you can hold it 3 or 4 times a week for 5-10 minutes. once youve been handling it for a month or two you can probably move that amount of time up to 30 minutes

I would just like to correct the sexing coment of Wester Fence Lizards. Dark blue on the throut and belly suggests a male. Light or almost a sky blue on the belly suggests a female.
