ok im in the planning process of building a cage for my bp. i am looking for plans on how to build on and such.
I am asking if anyone knows of a good web site with plans on how to build one or has plans of there own that they would be willing to e-mail me, or are willing to send me the plans for . i am willing to pay a little for the plans (within reason). im looking for basicly any cage that is 3x2x2 or larger.

I am also looking for the plans to a rack system. again i am willing to pay within reason for these plans. the rack system im looking for holds atleast 4 41 qt. sterilites. but anything that can hold colubrids will work.

my e-mail is (snakeman14@comcast.net) if you would like to get in touch with some plans or ideas or anything that could be of some use it would be greatly appreaciated.

thanx
RV

Most of use here on this forum really don't use plans. We come up with a basic idea and then come up with a cut list that allows us to build the cage we want, and in some cases, do so while maximizing the material we buy. For example, I have tweaked a plan by just an inch or two and been able to limit myself to a single sheet of plywood.

Keep in mind that just about any reptile cage is a simple box. If you can add and subtract fractions/decimals you can make your own plan. We could help you with a plan but you need to be more descriptive with what you want. Have you seen a picture of a cage you like?

Regarding the rack, there are tons of links available by just going back a few pages on this forum. It's very likely that you'll have to modify whatever plan you use to the exact box you have. At that size the boxes are hard to find so just about everyone uses a slightly different product.

You could modify this rack to fit whatever size tubs you need. I can fit 15 - 16 qt tubs in this rack. Got to home depot & look through the shelving material to get some ideas, although you may need plywood or melamine by the sheet if your tubs are VERY wide. But Chris is right...most of us make up our own plans to fit our specific needs.

i see what you two are saying and it makes sence. you need a cage or rack its got to be cutomized to you specific needs.

the reason i was asking was because you see im only 15 and iv been trying to get my step dad to help me build one but he wont help unless i have plans and a cut list. and since were both no building wiz we kinda of need some thing or someone to give us guidence on our first one.

do you think if i post all the spec for this cage someone could give me some guidence mabe help me with a cut list, if i get all the pieces cut out i can assemble it pretty easy it can be much harder that putting a computer together ....right?

well thanx again

This is the list for the rack I have pictured:
2 - 4'x16" melamine shelves ($7.50-$8 each)
6 - 3'x16" melamine shelves ($6.50 each)
several 1 1/4" screws. (they may have been longer!)

Each shelf is spaced about 8 1/2 inches apart.
The rack cost under $60, without heat!
