Hi Fonz,
Neat little guy! I am assuming that at some point you would like to get a female too! Lyndsay Pike from Urotopia keeps them, don't know which one or if he keeps both. How do you have yours set up? Keep us posted. Good luck with him, he sure is a cutie.
Pam
Hi Pam,
ofcourse I am looking for one or two females
The terrarium in which i keep him is 180 x 50 x 50 cm.
Hottest spot is 50°C.

I keep and breed taylori, they are very cool.
Looking at your picture, it looks to me like you have taylori, not batilifera.
Hey Brian,
this is a picture of Xenagama taylori...

And this is a pic of my animal...

See the difference?
Xenagama batilifera: the tail is about as wide as the lizards hips.
Xenagama taylori: the tail is noticeably wider than the hips.
So I am pretty sure that he is a X. batilifera.
Can you tell me how you keep your taylori´s?
Everything is welcome, because I want to write an article about the genus.

Sorry about that, I think your right. It was hard to tell from the first picture. I have a trio of taylori (1M, 2F) kept in a 20L tank. Temp is kept high, humidity low, similar to uro's. I glued a bunch of basking rocks together and put them on one side, then filled the tank with about 6 or so inches of wet dirt from outside, compacted it and let it dry out and harden. This is so they can dig safe, sturdy burrows which they love to do. At first I put just a thin layer of play sand, but they couldn't burrow and were not happy. Then I put 6 inches of playsand which allowed them to burrow, but the burrows would collapse, again not happy. The compacted dirt has worked best. There are also some fake plants that I mist with water every evening that they rush over to to lick off. I feed mainly small crickets and mealworms, occassionally waxworms with the usual vitamin and mineral supplements. They don't seem too interested in greens. They have breed in this setup, and I am now incubating eggs. There is a good caresheet on gladesherp.com. I would like to post a picture for you, but I still live in the dark ages and don't have a digital camera, maybe someday.
Brian
Thanks Brian forposting all this information about how you keep them!
Hope your Xenagama-eggs hatch and produce beautiful juveniles.
