How do you guys take outside pictures?

JMMARICH Apr 12, 2004 01:50 PM

Ok, I have a cornsnake who is really docile. But the minute I put him outside, he snaps. Its like he turns into a psycho. He stops smelling, gets in a classic strike pose (often "rattling" his little tail) and I usually end up with a few bites when I pick him up. Any idea whats going on?

hmmm, i dunno about that one. since its been really nice here in seattle i've been taking my corn out a lot lately for some pics with my new camera. he's tolerated, if not enjoyed, the different scenery. his temperment never really changed. could it be temperature, or maybe just the season? if its a male, maybe he's just eager to find that certain corn-snake-someone to share some quality time with and getting a little edgy? maybe something in the air that he senses thats triggering the breeding option. heck i dunno. i'm sure the more experienced could tell you better... just some guesses from me.

Yah, my one snake did that too when he was younger. It's like they turn wild.

My take is that the fresh air and new smells either stress them out or just hyperexcite them. He's gotten better about it since he's gotten older, so maybe it's a baby thing. Is your's young?
