Whites Tree Frog Acting Weird

Hornedman Apr 12, 2004 03:32 PM

Hey guys what's up? I used to own a whites very long ago and he was the most hyper whites i ever seen.He would also be attached to the glass and at least have some activity.I recently purchased another whites from pet land and he seems to be acting strange. He comes out eat but besides that hes always hiding in this fake bush i have in the tank.I always mist him and what not,but never ever moves out of that spot.Does anyone know of this or similiar situation? And if i do put him on the glass of the cage, he quickly returns to the same spot as before. Thanks for any comments...

Is that his only hiding spot? Remember, whites are more nocturnal. Does he come out later? Many frogs will choose their favorite spot in the cage and stay there. Even though firebellied toads can be very active during the day, Roger will pick his favorite spot in the back all day for a week, and move a little at night. If he comes out to eat, he later goes back to the same spot. Chris on the other hand, picks several favorite spots. Remember, every frog has an individual personality.

My dart frog, although has a 20 gal all to himself right now, only patrols a certain area of his vivarium. Since he's diurnal, he picks the same spot at night to go to bed.

I would only be worried if he doesn't eat. You just got him too. Give him time as he's adjusting.
