Help, beardie having problem with eye...

crowley Apr 12, 2004 03:45 PM

I came home and discovered something strange with our beardie's eye. It seems to me like she cannot move her "protective, cleaning lens" back into space. Half of it is covering her eye, with a tad or redness...also it is quite watery. I tried to soak her in warm water and gently massaged the eye hoping to break loose anything that might have gotten inside the eye lid. But no avail! If anyone has any clue what the problem may be, please email me or let me know asap. Thank you!

Agreed with Bennett on this one.
I would get her into the vet as soon as you can arrange it. It may be something stuck up in there and irritating her or maybe a scratch. It could also be some sort of eye infection ..... either way, she needs vet care.

Get her to the vet! It's probably some kind of infection.

Please DO NOT try to treat it yourself-you could end up doing more damage. Beardies need medicine for beardies. Not for humans.
