Can I handle N.amyae with my bare hands without being pricked by their sharp looking rough spike skin? Are the spikes on the N.amyae really sharp and do I need to wear gloves when touching them?

They are not sharp and will not even prick you. They are just ciliated or extremely tuberculated scales (in clusters). You only want to handle a N. amyae (or any gecko), under special circumstances such as cage cleaning or health issues.
