tiffanylym - Boy tortoise...(plain as day),,,

Teddy did this for the first time when he was two, I thought
his guts were falling out. I've got plenty of pics of his
plastron, and they are inconclusive. You usually can't determine
sex too soon, he was 7 pounds at this time.

Teddy two years ago, he was 17 inches SCL at that time, and
extending over half his shell length. He is currently
almost 5 years old, and over 60 pounds, and no current pics
of that anymore, someone might faint. And you wondered
exactly WHAT they had in that shell.

oh GAWD... i had no idea what that looked like for torts. i've seen a snake's ween, and an iguana's ween, but that takes the cake!

if i saw that and didn't know what it was, i'd rush to the emergency vet!

OK. that is, well that just goes to show that God *DOES* have a sense of humour.

So being the proud "sister" of a female tort, and not having much experience with male torts, do they always run around like that? Or just when they are aroused?

I apologize for my lack of knowledge, and potential political correctness.

Naw they only do that once in a while, otherwise they're inocently
grazing. I'm sure if it happened while we were hosting a
BBQ party it would clear the place of guests really quick!

How old/big is your sulcata, some 30 plus pounders have been known
to be "girls" until *THAT* happens! lol! At this point unless
it's laid eggs I wouldn't be sure of anything.

Pic. is Teddy this spring - 4 years old, 60 pounds
