can anyone give me advice on handling leopard geckos? for example, how often, method, what time, before or after eating, how, etc... my one and only Leo is 5 inches from tip of nose to tip of tail.. i bought it a month ago as a supposed hatchling and it's a SPAZ! i've handled it 2 or 3 times in that month and it either attemps to jump away from me (i'm always low to the ground as a safety measure), or run up my shirt to my head and when i grab it to stop it, it screeches like a dinosour.. i'm extremely gentle with it and VERY careful with it's tale but it's just a spaz.. i put my hand in it's tank today and even hand fed it but when i put my hand on the floor it started to wiggle it's tale as if it was gonna attack my fingers! lol.. it's just not tame and the guy at the pet shop would just grab it like a rock or something.. it needs to get tame and i need an expert opinion...

hmmm...I handle each of my leos 20 min. or less everyday. I am glad that you are gentle with your leo and take the precautions you do. The screeching just means that your leo is unhappy with you or what you are doing. As long as you are being gentle, don't worry. My leos screech and click (one even squeals) at me all the time. To start out, let your leo(make sure you are at a low altitude, leos have been known to jump to their deaths) climb on you wherever it wants to go. This will let it get used to you, and learn your scent. Hope this helps!
