Bairds bred yet?

shaky Apr 12, 2004 10:06 PM

Mine still show little interest. They are 3 this year.
They have been introduced several times so far, but I hope this cold front will stir his "loins".
I've also tried misting the cage, but nothing so far.

A friend of mine had his baird's together a month ago. She is lookin real nice. You should be able to breed them. It would be nice if you had another male. If you could introduce another male in there it will usually intensify mating situations. The males will feel as if they must compete for the female so they quickly try to mate with her. This may also get the female interested in mating as well.

I do have another male, now that you mention it. I'll have to be really careful, but I'll try it.
