Sand?

I have alot of sand laying around that i didnt use yet from my bearded dragon i was wondering can i use the sand for a substrate for my green iguana

I have went 8 months without any probs with my beardie

Nope, it could cause impaction if he would eat it for whatever reason...newspaper, linoleum, papertowels, or even towels....good luck...Lyn

I personally wouldn't use sand as a substrate, but I do have a question about that. My vet said sand was a good substrate for my iguanas the last time I had them in to his office. Also... you always see pictures of iguanas on the beach in their natural habitat. If they are on the beaches in the wild why can't they have sand in captivity. Or did I just answer my own question. Could it be a difference from being in the wild and being in captivity. Anyway, it's just a thought that maybe someone could explain. Thanks.
