i have a 1.0 jcp late '03 cb and have had him for about 2 months now. he was eating f/t mice fine for me but has recently been soaking in the water bowl all the time and will not eat. i have the temp at 85 on the hot side and 75-80 on the cool side. he is in a 40 gallon tank. he seems healthy, no mites or any visible illness. please help, my email is hardtailrider215@yahoo.com thank you

Well, If you've checked for mites and haven't found them and he seems healthy for the most part. I'd say he could be developing something internally (Like a RI) or hes shedding and need more humidity.

What I'd do is up his hot spot to 90 degrees or so just in case he is developing a respitor infection, and then I'd keep an eye out for shedding signs or signs that he's sick. If he's sick take him straight to a herp vet, and if he sheds then next time spray down his cage with a water bottle daily around shedding time to help with the humidity.

I agree with Darci, but it could also be that the snake feels insecure and is using the water dish as a hide. You might want to try moving the snake into a smaller cage with a couple of hides and boost the warm side to 90°.

hey, thank you guys so much i think im going to put him in a 20 high till he gets older, im also going to take him to get looked at by some one who knowes more. thanks again and any more responces would be greatly apprciated
