What the heck? This is scary and weird! Panther eye itch.

I have heard of this before and read about it on this forum a while back but I never saw it in person before. Today I noticed my male panther jerking his head at the manzanita branch. When I went in for a closer look I noticed he was rubbing his eye against the branch vigorously. The scary thing was, was that his eye looked to be bulging out of its socket. His eye was TWICE as big as his other eye. This process lasted no more than one minute and his eye went back to normal (size). Does anyone have any explanation? Should I be worried?

Hey Tyler, sorry I missed you at the IRBA show. I was talking to Jim for a couple hours and never saw you. I left the booth and when I got back he said that you already left. Anyways, I'll throw you some pictures (hopefully) of my chameleons this weekend. My Uncle lives in Vegas and his son, my cousin, is really into reptiles. He also has other weird stuff. I'll holla at you later. Peace

I really hate it when they do this in front of me. Usually, long sprayings, or extended drip showers will help out, and they wont have to do this that much, but it's not uncommon. It really looks like the things going to just gush out, doesn't it?

I can attest as to why this may happen. Often, eye problems are attributed to calcium powder getting into their eyes. I had some on my hand the other day, and I rubbed my eye. within minutes, my eye turned BRIGHT red, and the white of my left eye swelled up and was gushing around my eye socket. It BURNED like crazy, too. I was surprised how much it irritated me, and I imagine it's just as bad with the chameleons.
