How do you keep the humidity up in wood cages?

laevans76 Apr 13, 2004 06:43 AM

I have a six foot long cage made out of wood how do you keep up the humidity level...I got a monitor in a 55gal and I dont have any problems there..Just using a spray bottle and at night turning off my uva light and leaving on my red light over the water bowl it stays about 80 to 85 degrees... In the cage I get it at night up to 85 degrees but during the day it drops...when i turn on my uva light....

get one of those small foggers for like 40$ at a pet store..or do to a repstile show and someone probably has them cheaper...i have had almost not humidity problems once i got that...just dont keep it on all the time and be carefull if the snake is in the water with it (i would leave it off in those cases because it has a little electric shock on one point..it does not put out a current in the water though) also..dont let the humidity escape through the top of the cage...line it with some plastic. good luck
