Sorry, I'm not Mr. A or Kelly but I was just wondering what sort of ventilation the cage has because, if too much, that would be a major problem in keeping the humidity up. I too have a 6'x 2' x 2' wooden cage. I had to almost completely get rid of vent holes to keep the humidity up. Since I am constantly in and out of the cage I haven't had a prob. with airflow.
Just a thought

You will need to have a period at night with no white light, but reds are fine. If you have 90 degree temps on the floor where the anaconda is, you need to drop the wattage a little. You should only have a small area at 90, the majority of the floor temp should be 80 to 85. This will also help with the humidity. Anacondas require slightly cooler temps than most other boids. Probably an adaption to extended periods in water.

I found that too many above light fixtures will kill your humidity. I posted a few pix of how I have mine set-up. As kelly said floor heat, I have three 11 x 17" heat pads under my cage to heat the floor to 80-85 degrees (use thermostat). The only reason that I have the 100watt heat lamp is to control air temp and that is also monitored by a thermostat. And one note that I would like to add, My lamp cage should be here any day, this will keep your snake from getting burned. Please take some pix of you cage set-up so we may add more info for you, good luck---Eric---
