What is a good, cheap type of mulch you can buy in big bags at Home Depot that makes a good, safe substrate for BP.
thanks

Cypress Mulch is a good mulch that you can use. It comes in a big back and its only a few dollars.

I could be wrong, but I don't think this is something to worry about. I have never heard of this being proven before.

I've been using Cypress Mulch on all types of snakes for many years. Snake Mites fed off of the blood of the animal & cannot survive in a bag of mulch. It is a very good medium due to the ease of cleaning & resistence to mold when wet. Drys out perfect & is very economical.....

Now if you already have mites it advisable to go to newspaper until you get rid of them. Cypress mulch has many benefits the main one being it's ability to hold humidity well. I think the balls love it!

Two good brands are Robin Hood Georgia Premium and Cambark. These brands come in double and triple mulched varieties that are more fine and lacks big chunks of wood.

The Robin Hood brand is easier to find and is distributed by Lowes.
