How Many?

Anole16 Apr 13, 2004 12:43 PM

I would like to get a 20 gallon high terrarium with a UVB light. How many breeding pair of adult anoles could I put in there? My choice of anoles would be Brown and Green. Would a 20 Gallon high terrarium even be a good choice?

My opinion is only one breeding pair for a 20 gallon. You would problably be able to get away with two females and one male, but under no curcumstances would I put another male in that small of an enclosure.

Unless you start thinking 40+ gallons I would stick to one breeding pair or give the one male two females to choose from at most. At 40 I think you could easly introduce 2 breeding pair of anoles without stressing any of them.

Then again.... my opinion, my grain of salt
Hope that I have been of some help
