okay first, how long do they last? do they actually last and give off UVB and UVA for 2 years?

second, does anyone have experience with bigappleherp.com's "capture the sun" mercury vapor bulb? apparently, there much better because they give off 157 UVB micro watts/cm square @ 30 cm. compared to powersun's and active UVheat's 50 microwatt/cm square. Are they actually this good?

They usually last one year. The Capture the Sun bulbs IMO are terrible, they always burn out in a few weeks, and their warrenty is pro-rated. The ZooMed PowerSun bulbs are warrenteed for a full year, if they burn out they send you a new bulb.

yes defenitly use the powersuns. they are by far the most superior bulb right now. i currently use 2 160w flood bulbs and one 160w basking bulb in a 5x5x5 enclosure. i just started using these bulbs about 2 1/2 months ago, and now i swear by em. its defenitly increased the activness of my dragons as well.
i found the cheapest and most pleasurable people to deal with were at http://www.discount-dog-supplies.com/Reptlite.htm. they are the last bulbs on the bottom of the page. good luck
