Prickly Pear Cactus/Okra/Dry Diet

shyguy4217 Jun 13, 2003 09:52 PM

Does anyone here know if it is alright to feed uros prickly pear cactus or okra? Also what do you feed your uros for a dry diet to snack on?

Thanx

for a dry diet, we give them some bird seed (no sunflower seeds or anything like that) and they really seem to like it. i've also heard that iguana or beardie pellets can be good.

Yes, Prickly Pear cactus is a very good food for Uro's, as well as many tortoise species. It is high in calcium as well! Just make sure to remove any spines first.
There have many recent posts regarding the dry diet, look back over the past couple of weeks.
