Using Mazuri 6F 5M30 Lab blocks

Marksd Apr 13, 2004 05:59 PM

Hello everyone. Just wondered if anyone has used the 6F5M30 lab blocks from Mazuri for mice. I was hoping to be able to get the 11F but the store can't even order it. Here is the basic stuff on it

Guaranteed Analysis
Crude protein not less than 16.0%
Crude fat not less than 6.0%
Crude fiber not more than 5.0%

Like I said I wanted the 11F because it has 11% fat and higher protein. I can also get the Lab diet 5001 and 5015 but they are $8 higher for the 5001 and $17 higher for the 5015. I use a rack type system so some sort of pelleted feed it nice. Any suggestions?

I highly recommend the Mazuri 6F 5M30. I use it to feed my rats and they are in a rack system. They usually have huge litters and grow quite fast. I have also used LabDiet 5001 and it seems to work just about as well. Although I prefer the Mazuri, the rats just seem to like it better. And what I like about that particular Mazuri feed is that it is "A diet designed for feeding rats and mice which are maintained in breeding colonies and intended for use as food for other species (such as reptiles)."

Hope that helps!
Here's a pic of a couple of my many different rat racks! I enjoy breeding rats as much as snakes!

I use the 6F 5M30 for rats and mice and it works great for me.
I get larger litters, they grow faster, and look healthier than when I used dog food.
