Gestation Period for Yellow Anaconda

Bam171bam Apr 13, 2004 07:30 PM

I was hoping some of the yellow anaconda breeders could tell me how long the gestation period is. The anacondas were locked up about a 6 weeks ago. the female had 2 small meals since then and now she is in shed. She is constantly laying on her side. I'd like to get a rough idea on how long I have.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Jason

Acording to NERD it is 115-135 days but Kelly Haller says that it is a little longer then that for Greens.

Greens run from 200 to 240 days, and ours were in the 220 to 230 range. Cage temperature variations and genetics probably account for the wide range. I have never bred yellows but I believe it is in the 150 to 180 day range. The difficult thing in some cases is nailing down the point of ovulation. In other cases, it is more obvious. Here is a shot I took of a 13 foot green ovulating. Good luck.
