Rottenweiler9 Apr 13, 2004 08:57 PM

Do they get like reg ones, or like kingsnakes?

Neither. Much Larger then kingsnakes and not near as larger as normals. Superdwarfs aren't to much larger is at all larger then an adult kingsnake. The jampeas and kayaudi's get larger.

Personally I don't keep dwarf retics. I don't keep retics anymore at all actually (Would kill to get my bali's back). I actually just put a hold on 1.1 zoo bred timor pythons which remind me alot of retics. Anyways The biggest kayaudi I've seen was about as round as a tennis ball. The biggest Jampea I've seen wasn't an adult.

There are some Monster Jampeas! I know they have a 14fter.

14ft thats pretty big, so no one really knows that full lenght they can get.

Jampeas are about 1/2 the size of normal retics in most cases when dealing with length. Weight is a bit more tricky though, they are well proportioned, and look simular to normal retics as as adults. This also means they put on weight at a smaller size. I think a good avrage for Jampea animals would be around 10' in length. Most males will be slightly smaller and most females slightly larger. Most Jampeas probably will not weigh very much at that length. Just as with normal retics, You could end up with an animal that is smaller or larger than avrage though. 14' by the way is a very very extreem example of a Jampea, just as 28' is an extreem example of normal. BTW while we are on the subject at the moment Kayuadi and Jampea animals are only differentiated by locality, they are however the same subspecies and are extremly simular to one another in every way. Also I personaly have a female Jampea near 13' a very huge Jampea but she still looks tiny next to this 20' Tiger. The breeding male is only a bit over 8'. -Shaun DeBord

Thanks for that, that clears up alot. I am glad dwarfs get bigger than 6 ft but I think 20ft is a little to much for me. Thanks

Shaun is absoluty right, you have to be able to take the minimum and maximum sizes into consideration. There are only a handful of monster Jamps out there, heck there are only a handfull of keepers that can say they have adult jampeas. 14 ft SOUNDS big, but that is on the large end of the average. And then look at Bob Clark's Fluffy, 24-26ft??? 300 lbs and she is a extreem of a captive mainland retic. There is no question about dwarfs IMO.
