Incubator? Hovabator?

A question about egg incubation. The Hovabator seems to be the weapon of choice in these fora when incubating pogona eggs, I took a look at it online and it seems to be a styrofoam cooler with some inexpensive temp control additions. I used to breed chameleons back in the dark ages and would put the tupperware containers with perlite and water and eggs under my bed, add a bit of water time and again and wait for months until the correct time had passed and then check daily until they popped out. Are bearded dragon eggs more delicate than cham eggs as far as temps and humidity are concerned? I have some eggs in the containers with perlite now, on some rocks in a rubbermaid container, 3 inches of water and heated with a fairly high end aquarium heater (digital thermostat) left over from my Discus breeding days. The containers are 1/2 inch above the water line and the water is heated to 88 degrees, this keeps the temp in the perlite at 81.5 to 82.5, will this be good enough? Also the humidity in the containers is very high, still a bit of condensation on the lids(small air holes added).

Sure you can use your homemade incubator with success, the hovabator just makes it easier that's all. As long as you stay within the ranges (sounds like you are) you'll be fine.
