Pig Blanket

vagans Apr 14, 2004 10:44 AM

I went to a retile expo and purchased a large Surinam boa. She has a heating pad now, but needs something bigger. They told me you can get a "pig banket". Is this something you buy at a feed store or what? Any info appreciated

No idea what a pig blanket. I'd say just get a heat lamp.

On VPI's website, they mention that they used to use "pig blankets" in their large python enclosures when they maintained lots of large species...I believe that a pig blanket is something like a Kane heat mat. You can find Kane mats at the Bean Farm (www.beanfarm.com)...

I bought them years ago from Bush Herp Supply.
Very nice! Mine are controlled by a Helix.
Sorry I don`t know where to get them now.
I would like to have a spare or two.

They were reviewed by a turte/tortoise society quite a while ago.
