Cheese cloth...

justin m Apr 14, 2004 11:00 AM

I have seen some mention using this as a top for FF containers...does anyone know where they sell this and what it is? Also, what are the sponge plugs or whatever? Thanks

Cheese cloth as the name implies is used for cheese making. It's a very fine woven, pure cotton cloth. It let's the air in and out but not the flies. It's a little bit dirty yellow in color. I think they make it standard in this color.

Well it is kind of assumed of what it is because of the use, but the real question is, where do they sell it? Can you just go to your local cheese factory(sarcasm) and ask for a couple feet of it? Thanks

You can find pre-packaged cheese cloth in nearly any store that sells fabrics and notions. Not knowing where you are from it is difficult to name a particular store, but you can probably find it in the craft/fabric section of your Wal-Mart. In my area it is available in white or black and most commonly manufactured by the Dritz company.

A quick Google search could produce a closer source for you but I have posted a link to an online company that sells it as well, (I hope... never tried it here before), or here it is to cut and paste. I am not endorsing this company... just happened to find it.
