I have a huge male and he is gorgeous!! They are great turtles. Very nice and hardy and not that hard to keep. Give lots of space and they do really well. Mine loves mostly plant matter but will eat shrimp, crickets, mealworms, reptomin, trout chow just about anything.

lol, my enclosure looks just like that, I have a Mississippi Map, a Redbelly and a Western painted in a 20 qt. rubbermaid container. I have the turtle dock as well, that seems to be their basking platform. I don't know if mine is a eastern red belly I think it's a Northern, lol is there a difference?

Eastern red bellies do not exist but could be a mere cross between the only 3 however. There are; though, Alabama red bellies (Pseudemys alabamensis), Florida red bellies,(Pseudemys nelsoni) which in fact look different, and then you got your northern red belly species, (Pseudemys rubriventris). They are all very alike in actions but not in appearance. Most think the northerns are the prettiest, with the carapace of a slider, but almost the unique look of a Western Painted turtle. Not that it helps you any, but all 3 kinds are great and yours looks healthy too....nice map you got, too.
