Growing fruits and veggies for your herps....help....

lilroach56 Apr 14, 2004 03:16 PM

Hello. I plan on getting a mali uro sometime this summer. As most herbivore keeping herps know greens are often recomended. In my area every spring and summer dandelions are out and about everywhere. But sadly pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, and fertilizers are common in my area. I was wondering if i can grow dandelions in flower pots for the greens?

YES!!! ... collect the tufts and you can grow your own .... i used the tub we used for our boxie last year out side as a planting area .. and collected all the tufts i could find and sprinkled them all over it .. i had planted some last year and they came up again MUCH MUCH bigger .. so keep them in the pot from year to year and add seed ( even fertilizer if you want) and let them go to town.

Growth form pre existing plants from last year is faster and i think bigger.

How many tufts did you use?
how many flowers did you get?
