veiled breeding problems

jovcham Apr 14, 2004 06:01 PM

my Ex brought over his year old veiled female to breed with my male yesterday. She already looked lumpy before breeding, I felt no eggs inside though so I put her in the cage with him. She did not turn black, he walked over to her and started to do his thing. about 2 min later she turned black and started biting him then she ran out from underneith him. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? was that all it took for her to breed? could she have already been gravid and not realized he was humping her for 2 min? has this ever happened to anyone else? should I try to breed her again?

Personally...I've never been humped for 2 minutes without realizing it.... LOL!

But cereally...2 minutes could have been enough for breeding to occur. My Jacksons bred for maybe 3 minutes tops and I got viable neonates every time they did. The fact that she turned black and bit him meant "I'm done...you can go home now..no cuddling needed"

Breeding with an ex...hmmm...kinda weird

HAHA thanks for the chuckle yea me and the ex started the chameleon collection together and when we split we split the chams too, they still have to be bred to someone I've tried breeding her a few more times but she turns black and hisses so I guess I'll treat it as if she was bred.

It is possible that she is already carrying infertiles. Wait a couple days and try it again. I've had females that would never breed. Some are just funny that way.

See the thought that she was already carring eggs crossed my mind, but wouldnt she reject him from the start if she was?
