This is the neo I just got in today from Rich Ihle. He is a litter mate with some sunglows... The sides of his saddles are very rich black in color... I have never seen black like this in a boa... looks almost painted on.

This is a normal boa that I just got about a week ago.. But he doesnt look so normal to me... What do you think?

the way the melanin is extremely washed out directly surrounding the tail bands... this is very rare, as in most commons and even pastels, those areas are just COVERED in melanin.. so much as to make it look solid black at times!
I can imagine a few generations away, when that area will be completely light, just like its side color... coupled with a bright red/orange tail.... can't wait !!!!!

That 'common' sure looks nice too ! lol *wink*

Glad to see you got that little guy from Rich and John - I was sooo tempted many times! lol

Nice looking snake!

Do you keep your boa on that pebble substrate all the time?? I've never seen anyone use that type of substrate before.

That is a setup I made for pictures only. The substrate I use in their cages is paper.
