I really need some advice. I have 2 5 month old Leopard Geckos... and last week I had a problem with their eatting habits. I posted and got some advice. I tried it and it didn't work. My leos would come up to the glass every night for feeding time. One likes crix more and other mealies. They chase the crix and wag their shaking tail and eat like 6 a night. And mealies they'd eat like 5 a night. I would switch off back and forth from crix one week and mealies the next. My problem is they arn't eatting as much as they used to. They slowly walk around and just lick everything. They only been eatting around 2 bugs every other day. And I do believe I have done the wrong thing. I havn't dusted like I'm suposse to. The dust I have (Flukers Calcium) says daily and I did abut every other week. I didn't realize it was so important. I have them in a 15 long tank with an uth, hiding spots(5), water dish, and it's usally around high 70's. One advice you guys said was up the high side to 80's. So, I got a basking heat bulb and it made it around 86* on the hot side. They did seem to like this. And another advice was to give both crix and mealies at the same time. I tried this also and they don't even look at the crix anymore. They just sit there and let them pass. Now last night neither of them ate(like the last 3 days) and I was getting really scared. The only thing I could think of was I don't have a calcium bowl in my tank. So, I set this up and sat a leo beside it. He gobbled that stuff up! He took probably 3 huge bits of it super fast as soon as he smelled it. So, I think the dusting is my problem, b/c obvisouily he knew he needed it. He shed last night also and I watched the whole time. All went well and he ate all of it. The other gecko did eat a mealworm tonight, but thats all. And he didn't seem like he enjoyed it. I have been dusting every night, but now they won't even basically eat! They always ran when I tried to pick them up and now they just sit there and flop in my hand. I don't know how to get them back up and going! It's sad to see my leos just laying their with a sad face when I used to see them waiting for me jumping around. I will do my dusting now, that I have learnt it's very very important. And I need some advice on how to fix this. Please people don't yell, I know I did wrong and that is why I am asking for your help. ?
