WTF does not move at all the whole day and night

Dumpythegrump Apr 14, 2004 10:24 PM

PLEASE ANSWER FAST!

I got my wtf about 2 days ago and it has a 30 gallon tank with a hide away, branches, water dish, plants. When I leave for school and when I come back it is in the same spot but thats normal because thats during the day. But I thought sometime during the night it would move some where but it does not. I have cocanut subsrate and I spray it with a clean not used water bottle every once and while when I see it getting dry in tank. What can I do to get it more ative plus it does not have a intrest in eating at all.

Thanks, all of you

First of all, your frog may need a few days to adjust to his new home. Leave him alone for a couple of days. The enclosure doesn't need to be really wet, as long as the substrate is damp, and there is a water dish. Too much humidity isn't good for the fellah. Whites naturally live in a fairly dry environment and come down from the trees at night to soak in water. He actually might be active at night and you just aren't aware of it yet. If he chooses to sleep in the same place (which mine always do) you may see him in that place before you go to bed, and still in it (or rather back in it) when you get up in the morning. If you want to know for sure if he's being active, check in the middle of the night, or just see if the water gets substrate in it, and if the glass gets dirty. Also, introduce food to him slowly. give a cricket or two at night, if they are still there in the morning take them out and try again in a day or two. If in a few days he is still not moving or eating, then you might take him to the vet. Hope this helps.

i entirely agree w/ samster... He may be moving at night but likes to sleep in the same spot, thats what mine do. Good luck
