Feeding?

jasonmc Apr 14, 2004 11:56 PM

My male Leopard has refused to eat since December. He used to love eating super worms but since cooling down wouldnt touch them. today when feeding my snakes I thought why not throw in a pinky and see what happens? With no warning, he pounced on the pinky and ate it. Hopefully he dosent get stuck on eating pinkys, as you all know its much cheaper to feed worms.

Do I also need to dust the pinkys, and what would you consider a healthy amount of pinkys to feed him throughout the week?

His tail is skinny now, and I would really love to fatten him up now I know what he wants. Maybe I can do pinkky scented worms. LOL

Here is a picture of how skinny he is (sad).
Happy now he ate.

Thanks for any respose.
Jason Mc.

I wouldn't feed him pinkies regularly...he may have just wanted some variety...try switching off crickets, mealies, and superworms with the ocassional waxworm or pinky (wax worms no more than once every 2 weeks...and pinkies no more than once a month till he's at a good weight...then you can stop feeding them).

-ignorance is not to be punished when one is trying to gain knowledge...what scares me is the vast number of people who, when given the information to gain knowledge, choose to ignore it.
