Those brown spots are perfectly normal!
They're not a disease, sickness, etc. Like humans, some species can have different furs, phases, skins, etc. Firbellied toads are one of those species, you'll occasionally see brown patches.
I personally think fbt's with brown patch, or that are pure brown(with red belly) are cool!
I'm pretty sure the brown is much more common to see in firebellied toads in captivity then firebellied toads in the wild, though...

well, the pic didnt come thru for me, but has it been there forever? if so, it might be part european. theyre brown. i dunno, just an idea.
When I first saw the toad at the pet store it had one brown spot. I didn't want it because I thought it might be sick. The guy at the store said it was 'just a sore'.
When my husband unknowingly brought it home, it had more brown spots, and also around it's eyes.
