Collecting Ovulation Pictures.......help me out

jim_perron Apr 15, 2004 08:37 AM

Hey all,

over the last couple of days I have seen 2-3 cool ovulation pics that people have posted......fun time of year.....

Anyway, it is facinating to me how different ovulation can look visually from female to female. Some are real centralized to one spot and massive....while other are more distributed to a larger zone yet buldging. And still others are slightly different.

I thought it would be cool to collect a bunch of these pics for comparison.

If you have a ovulation pic from this season or any season for that matter please post it under this thread.

I have a recent one I will get up on the thread in the next day or so.

Thanks,

Jim

We really liked this ovulation. I do not usually take pics of this but I had to on this one. It was about a month ago. Hope you enjoy it.

I think ovulation can be tough to accurately capture in a picture - it just looks bigger and better in person. Like you said, I too have noticed that ovulation isn't always "well defined". Sometimes it doesn't seem like there is a peak where the female just gets huge. I think I had a female ovulate in two "stages" last year. She lumped up and I thought it was a rather small ovulation for the amount of follicles that she had.....so I had my doubts that it really was ovulation. I thought she was just "building up to it". The swelling went down some but a couple of days later she started up again. I thought this was going to be it.......but the swelling only reached the "small" size of the first one. She went on to her prelay shed and laid eggs. When working in reverse it timed out that what I was seeing should have been ovualtion - either one or both of the swellings could have been it. It was just wierd.
Good luck with your breeding projects.
