Filter for a RES tank

fishkeeper06 Apr 15, 2004 12:15 PM

I'm looking around at filters for my RES tank and I'm trying to find a good one that's not too expensive. I konw canisters would be best but I just can't afford one. I've been looking at the Duettos and the Ovation 700 Submersible Filter. Does anyone know if these filters are any good?

How big is your tank and what is your price range for a filter? There are some good canisters out there that are not prohibitively expensive. Submersible filter are NOT the way to go!! You will be regretting it every step of the way. Also you can look at Magnum HOT filters as another option. Try THATPETPLACE.com they have some pretty good prices there. Not affiliated with them at all folks just shop there alot and like the prices.

I have a 40 Breeder and I'm looking to spend under $50. The submersible I was looking at can filter twice the amount of water I have. Is it still a bad decision? I'll check out that website. Thanks
