Cal king slug?

Can anyone tell me whether this looks like a slug or a viable egg? Thanx, dave

I would still keep it in the vermiculite for a few days.. try to candle it. If it starts to mold or smell bad pitch it. But the ONE slug my kings laid last year was identical.. all the way down to the sort of "folded" marks at the middle.
