My method for getting a biting Gila to release.........

LeeBarrie Apr 15, 2004 01:51 PM

I figured out a few weeks ago after one of my Womas decided to try to eat me, that a quick spray of vinegar/water in his mouth made him release instantly. This was after trying everything else I could think of including the hot water. Believe me, the Woma was very persistant & I had a good 15 minutes of experimentation time. Then it hit me, maybe the vinegar/water would work on the Gilas. Last night I finally had the opportune time to try it out. I was clipping toe nails on the babies & one of them decided to turn his little head & nab me on my gloved finger. I sprayed his mouth & boom, instant release with a bad taste in his mouth. Now when I'm playing with little buggers I make sure I know where the spray bottle is at all times.

Hope this helps & I use a 50/50 solution of white vinegar & water.
