Hova-Bator Problems

llechler Apr 15, 2004 04:52 PM

I just received my hova-bator still air yesterday and have been trying to get it to stabilize around 82 degrees. I'm having a really hard time keeping it at a constant temperature. Does anyone else have this problem? What am I doing wrong?

Also, once it has stabilized, how often do you check its temperature?

Let it sit plugged in for a while, then adjust temps. If you start playing with temps before it is warmed up, then adjusting the temp. is meaning less. Mine doesn't fluctuate and stays at a constant.

I set the temp. in my hova bator by sticking then cord (outside) to a digital thermometer inside, then I will let it sit a while to get a reading. When the Red light on it is heating if it is too hot i will turn it down untill the light goes off then wait a while, if the light comes back on and it is still too hot i will turn it down untill the light goes off again and wait. the process can take up to a day to get the right temp. when the desired temp is achieved tighten the screw. The temp in mine does vary but the variance is pretty regular
